Thinking of You
Morley wasn't like a nephew, he was more like a brother to me; we grew up together. Every time I visit Newfoundland, Madge, tells me about how I used to take Morley and Ivy's safety pins out of their diapers and use them for my dolls! Back in the 70s, Morley and his brother, Danny, came to Toronto to look for work and they stayed with me and my family. I never had much experience cooking; we had a lot of bologna and beans! I needed to go grocery shopping and my daughter, Penny, was only a toddler. Morley took care of her while I just ran across the street. When I went to the door to leave, Morley yelled out, "Aunt Syb, don't forget the bologna and beans!!"; Morley always called me 'Aunt Syb'. I was back within the hour. When I opened the door, Morley had a smile on his face. He had taken the lamp shades off of my lamps and Penny was rolling them around the living room floor! Morley was laughing and said it kept her busy. Morley has always been a part of my life and he has shared life with my children throughout the years. My son, Christopher, was Ringbearer for Morley and Chris' wedding. We all had a lot of fun dancing that night!
Thank you for all of the wonderful memories you have given us, Morley. So sad to say goodbye to you for now, but we celebrate your life and we're grateful for the time we've shared with you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, Penney family.
Much love, Sybil Penney. Penny Squires and Hannah, Ethan, Caleb, and Aslan. Christopher & Suzanne Squires and Lily and Vivian.
